Which Is More Valuable: An E-mail List Or A Blog?

From:
James Legacy

Dear Future Millionaire,

Let me ask you something…

Would you rather have an e-mail list or a blog?

Seriously, if someone were holding a knife to your pants, and you had to pick one… which one would you choose?

What’s that you say?

“There really is no right answer here?”

Well… I beg to differ. I believe that there is a right answer here.

And quite frankly, I think it is far more advantageous to have an e-mail list.  Please allow me to explain…

You see, when you have an e-mail list, you can push content directly into the e-mail inboxes of your prospects and customers.  (And you can do this legally, of course, as long as that person has voluntarily given you their e-mail address).

In other words, once someone has given you their e-mail address, you can send them e-mails that are loaded with content and promotions whenever you desire.  The ball is in your corner.

Now let’s take a look at a blog (or content website).

With a blog, you are not the one who is in control.  (I know you don’t like to hear this, but it’s the truth).

You see, with a blog your content just sort of dangles out there in internet land — hoping that someone will come along and find it.

For example, let’s say that you have a website about golf.

And let’s say that someone out there in internet land wanted to learn more about golf today.

So what will that person do?

Well, quite likely they will head over to one of the search engines and type in the word “golf”.

And after they’ve done that, a list of websites would appear.  Some of those websites might be about professional golf, golf balls, the perfect golf swing… well, you get the point.

And heck, let’s even say that your website appears on that list (even though getting a position on the first page of search engine results can be somewhat tricky).

But just because your blog appears on the list of websites that the user is looking at, does that mean they are going to come and read your blog?

NO, it doesn’t.

You see, when it comes to blogs, the ball is no longer in your court.  The ball is in the court of your reader.

Or to put it a different way:  The ball is in their court.

In other words, when it comes to blogs it is the reader who decides which content he or she wants to read for the day.

Do you see the difference?

With an e-mail list, you have more control:  You are the one is able to push content (and promos) directly into the e-mail boxes of your users.

But with a blog, your readers are the ones who have more control:  They are the ones who decide which content to pull off of the internet… and quite often it isn’t going to be yours!

So, to wrap things up here:  Start building an e-mail list.

Now of course I’m not saying that you should only have an e-mail list.  You should have a blog, too.  Just be aware that your e-mail list has the potential to be a lot more valuable to your business.

Heck, it’s not uncommon for people to use their e-mail lists to drive traffic to their blogs.

Or even better yet, after you send an e-mail to your list, take that e-mail and post it to your blog.  In this way you can add content to your blog without having to do any extra work.  (Pretty cool, eh?)

Anyway, I’m done for now.  But don’t think for one second that I won’t be coming back with a fury to teach you even more about how to build a profitable online business.

Because I will be.

To your success,

How To Login To A Password Protected Website — Without Even Knowing Your Password

From:

Wednesday, 5:03 p.m.

Dear friend,

I want to let you in on one of my little secrets today:

I hardly know any of my passwords.

Yep, it’s true.

Just like you, I spend a fair amount of time on the internet using password-protected sites such as my e-mail account, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

And I’m able to instantly login to these websites each day… even though I barely know any of my passwords for these sites.

How do I do it, you ask?

Well, I can answer that question for you in a single word:

RoboForm.

You see, RoboForm is a little piece of software that I use which was highly recommended to me by several different online business owners. And it remembers my passwords for me.

Actually, not only does it remember passwords for me, but it also inserts them whenever and wherever I need them.

And RoboForm doesn’t just do this with passwords, but it also stores my name, address, credit card information and phone number — so that I never have to waste my time filling out online forms, either.

It all gets done in just a click of a button.

Oh, and if you’re concerned about security, don’t worry: RoboForm is password protected. This means that if your computer were ever to fall into the wrong hands, your data will always be safe.

Yes, it’s true: I hardly know any of my passwords.

Yet I currently login to password-protected websites faster than 99.99% of all internet users.

Now that’s productivity.

For those of you who want to save time like I do, you can pick up a copy of RoboForm at:

To your productivity,

Books May Soon Become Extinct

From:
James Legacy

Dear Friend,

I fear that books are about to become extinct.

Impossible, you say? Well, let me explain…

You see, book giant Amazon.com has recently developed a new electronic reader. And quite honestly, it looks amazing.

Their device is known as the Amazon Kindle.

With the Amazon Kindle, you may never have to carry another book around again — as the Kindle will store all of them for you electronically.

I know, I know — you hate on-screen reading. Heck, I do too! But the display screen on the Amazon Kindle is like nothing you’ve ever seen before: There is no back-light.

Listen, I’ve got to be honest with you: I’ve never even seen a display screen before that didn’t have a back-light.

But somehow, Amazon has managed to do it.

What this means for you and I is that we can now read any book we want, whenever we want, wherever we are… and without eye-strain.

(Not bad, eh?)

Heck, the Amazon Kindle will even allow you to adjust the size of the text — which is something that no book could ever do.

I could ramble on and on about this device… but you probably just want to see it, right?

Alright, well here it is:

Be sure to watch the first two videos on that page as they will give you an excellent idea of what the Amazon Kindle is all about.

(Are you as impressed as I am?)

Digging the Kindle,

James Legacy

P.S. If you are an online business owner, the Amazon Kindle also presents a new way for you to reach your audience with your electronic books and special reports!

P.S.S. If you are not an online business owner, you really should look into it.
